Religious courts are fully committed to take every effort to eradicate court mafia. The commitment will consistently be upheld by everyone at the working units, ranging from Directorate General of Religious Courts, High Religious Courts to Religious (District) Courts.

The above commitment is one of the significant agreements reached in the coordination meeting themed "Combating Law Mafia in the Religious Courts Jurisdiction", which was held in Badilag’s Meeting Room, on Wednesday (17/2).

The meeting was attended by Badilag’s leadership, Chief Judges and Registrars of PTA (High Religious Court) Jakarta, PTA Banten and PTA Bandung. In addition, the meeting also involved Chief Judges and Registrars of PA (Religious Court) throughout Jakarta, PA Bogor, Depok PA, PA Cibinong, PA Bekasi, PA Cikarang, Tangerang and PA Tigakarsa PA. Some of supervisory judges from PTA Jakarta and the Supreme Court were also in attendance.

"We want to build commitment to eradicate law mafia through this meeting. We also want to formulate possible solutions, " DG Wahyu Widiana said.

It can be said that generally there is no law mafia and which is systemic in nature an organized one in the religious courts jurisdiction. Based on the findings of Supervisory Board, the deviations/irregularities are usually carried out by certain individuals.

At the end of the meeting, DG Badilag warned all judicial officers not to be a part of the law mafia. "We've received positive appreciation from inside and outside the country as a clean judiciary. We maintain that image with a commitment not to engage in the practices of law mafia," he said.

Quote of The Day

O you who believe! Be upright for Allah, bearers of witness with justice, and let not hatred of a people incite you not to act equitably; act equitably, that is nearer to piety, and he careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is Aware of what you do”.
(QS. Al-Ma`idah : 8).
