High Religious Court Website Assessment,
What are the Results?

All Indonesia's High Religious Courts have websites on the internet. And most of the websites provide quite complete data needed by the public.

NLRP (Indonesia-the Netherlands National Legal Reform Programs), a national institution funded by the Netherlands Government, has released its assessment results on the websites of Indonesia’s High Religious Courts. The assessment results were published on the Quarterly Fact Sheet, 4^th edition, last December.

According to the assessment, PTA (High Religious Court) Surabaya, East Java, gains the top position with a perfect score (32 points), beating the other 28 PTAs across Indonesia.

PTA Ambon’s website sits as a runner-up with 30 points. 3^rd position until 5^th position respectively are PTA Banjarmasin (26 points), PTA Yogyakarta (26 points), and PTA Mataram (23 points). Meanwhile, PTA Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara gets the last position with 7 points.

“We used the same parameters as we did when assessing Religious Court websites,” said Aziz from NLRP.

NLRP uses Law No. 14/2008 on Transparency of Public Information and SK KMA 144/2007 on Transparency of Court Information as the parameters to assess court websites.

The NLRP assessment also reveals that all Indonesia’s High Religious Courts already have websites online. And most of the websites provide a quite complete data.

DG of Badilag, Wahyu Widiana, expressed his high appreciation to PTAs that had work hard to establish websites for public services.

“I congratulate PTA Surabaya that has been ranked as the best. Other PTAs don’t need to be discouraged. Keep up the spirit. The future assessment results might be different from now,” Wahyu said.

DG Wahyu Widiana also thanked to NLRP for the assessment. “This survey is very useful to encourage us in using Information Technology at the Religious Court,” he said. (c)
