Nenad Bago, Senior Adviser of AIPJT, said on Tuesday (2/2) that judgments of Religious Courts published on www.asianlii.org have met the International standards of Human Rights. Speaking before around 30 participants of English discussion at Badilag office, Nenad Bago presented his paper on Access to Justice.

“Indonesia has also achieved a great progress in reforming its judicial system by giving the access to justice for the poor in comparison with other developing countries in the world,” he added.

Bago further explained that Religious Courts have made significant progress in terms of access to justice. Prodeo cases and circuit courts are two facilities that have been proven incredibly beneficial for the poor.

“It’s a big honor for me to explain the access to justice for the poor in front of you. You are a great model for Indonesian’s judiciary reform,” said Bago who has a number experiences on legal development projects.

Wahyu Widiana, speaking on behalf of himself and Directorate General of Religious Courts in the Supreme Court, conveyed a great gratitude to Mr. Nenad Bago for his amazing and interesting presentation. (Rahmat Arijaya)

Quote of The Day

O you who believe! Be upright for Allah, bearers of witness with justice, and let not hatred of a people incite you not to act equitably; act equitably, that is nearer to piety, and he careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is Aware of what you do”.
(QS. Al-Ma`idah : 8).
